This course focuses on implementation of a wide variety of military Operations Research methods using Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software accessible in any typical Department of Defense environment. Excel topics include using the Visual Basic Editor, recording macros, variables, subroutines, ranges, control logic and loops.

This course introduces the systems engineering and analysis student to probability, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and regression. The modeling and analysis of the stochastic behavior of systems provides the context for the course.

This course introduces students to several foundational data technology concepts and tools. Databases and fundamentals of data storage will be introduced. Students will learn to prepare, organize, process, validate and visualize data.

This course introduces three analytical frameworks for problem solving: linear programming, decision analysis, and simulation. It emphasizes problem formulation, logic, thinking about problem contexts and translating mental models into mathematical language.
