DGCOM Governing Equations

DGCOM uses the shallow water equations in conservation form. The equations define a conservation of mass equation (via the geopotential which denotes the height of the water column) and the conservation of momentum. The conservation of momentum includes various terms of interest in tsunami and storm-surge calculations including the Coriolis, wind stresses, bottom friction, etc.
