Don Brutzman is a computer scientist and associate professor working in the Modeling Virtual Environments & Simulation (MOVES) Institute at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey California. Currently he cochairs the Extensible 3D (X3D) Working Group for the Web3D Consortium. He wrote the book X3D Graphics for Web Authors with coauthor Leonard Daly, published April 2007 by Morgan Kaufmann. He is a retired naval submarine officer and principal investigator for the Network Optional Warfare (NOW) project. His research interests include underwater robotics, real-time 3D computer graphics, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-performance networking.
