  • Principal Investigator, leading a multidisciplinary team on a three-year project to design energy storage systems for naval facilities with the goal to improve energy security.
  • Leading the power electronics-based energy management system project, which is part of the Energy Systems Technology Evaluation Program funded by the Office of Naval Research.
  • Leading an interdisciplinary study group on microgrids with the goal to share ideas and support research projects and students theses.
  • Electric ship power system modeling and analysis including hybrid propulsion systems for fuel consumption reduction.
  • Railgun pulsed power supply stress analysis, failure mode and effect analysis. High voltage capacitor charger characterization.
  • Contributed to the new EE Energy curriculum and developed a new course covering electrical energy generation, distribution and transmission.
  • Developed hardware and software laboratories for the several courses.
