OTHER:
  • Reviewing: I have reviewed manuscripts submitted for publication in scientific journals, including Geophysical Research Letters and Continental Shelf Research.
  • Session convening: I was also selected to co-convene the "Observing, Modeling and Prediction of Arctic Change" session at the 2011 Arctic Science Summit Week conference in Seoul, Korea.
  • Workshop Attendance: I was invited to attend the “Biological Response to Reduced Sea Ice in the Pacific Arctic Region” meeting in Seattle, Washington, USA 6-8 May, 2009.
  • Community Outreach: As an outreach activity, I created a poster detailing the work of the Naval Postgraduate School Arctic Modeling Effort for the “Invitation to Showcasing NPS Event in Washington, D.C., 9-10 September 2009”. I have also been involved in outreach by speaking to local classrooms. For example, I made a presentation to a local 8th grade science class discussing the causes of global warming in 2008. In 2009, I made another presentation to the 4th-7th graders at their Earth Day observance where we discussed the importance of polar regions and how the Arctic, in particular, is experiencing changes.
