LTC Peter A. Nesbitt is an Assistant Professor of Operations Research. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Colorado School of Mines, a M.S. in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. An active duty Army officer serving in the Operations Research / Systems Analysis (ORSA) functional area (FA49), LTC Nesbitt has research-based and practical experience in military decision making; supporting community and Soldier health and quality of life; and campaign planning, targeting and assessment for land operations.

Research Interests

  • Mathematical programming specializing in network design, resilience and interdiction
  • Decision analysis for better high stakes decision-making
  • Military planning and assessment

  • Analytical model development
  • Harnessing advanced techniques for improved decisions and solution adoption
